Presentation Abstract:
Defending the United States and our national interests uses vast quantities of energy. In addition, we must be responsible stewards of our environment. The Air Force understands that energy and environment are important to our business. The Air Force has developed a three-step energy strategy: reduce demand, increase supply and change our culture to make energy a consideration in all that we do. To accomplish our vision, the Air Force is working hand-in-hand on our energy strategy in partnership with other government agencies and the private sector.

Kevin W. Billings, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Environment, Safety and Occupational Health, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D. C. As Deputy Assistant Secretary, he leads the Air Force senior policy and oversight office for environment, safety, occupational health and energy issues. The department's responsibilities include providing guidance, direction and oversight of all matters pertaining to formulation, review and execution of plans, policies programs and budgets for environmental, safety, occupational health and energy programs.
